Mercedes say they will have to consider dropping Lewis Hamilton or Nico Rosberg if the pair cannot race together cleanly.
The ultimatum from Mercedes sports boss Toto Wolff comes in the aftermath of the drivers' !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
The team have made it clear before this weekend's Italian Grand Prix that there must be no more on-track contact.
"We would have to take decisions and take the consequences of having a different line-up," said Wolff.
"If we are not able to manage the two of them following the Mercedes-Benz spirit then we need to admit that," added Wolff.
Mercedes have taken disciplinary action against Rosberg for the collision at Spa on 24 August, for which the German has !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
The collision caused a puncture in Hamilton's car and forced him to retire, and Rosberg subsequently opened up a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! over his team-mate in the championship.

I think this is just posturing. But we'll see. The bigger question, and one that Lewis brought up, is why Nico was not given a penalty by the FIA for causing a collision. Had Lewis been hit by a backmarker, I'm certain a penalty would have been assessed.

Seeing this shit with my coworker too, making a scene because he wants to be #1. I'm amazed he hasn't been fired yet because of it.
I've come to really love Mercedes, and Lewis Hamilton is a very good driver for them. I'll be extremely disappointed if they decide to drop Hamilton. Nico was simply being immature in his actions, and that's just downright ridiculous. Sure, they're both young, making boatloads of money, and generally living the life (as many young F1 drivers do), but when you're on the same team, and when you're hired to do a job, you do as the boss says.
There will be next year, and I'm sure deep down with team driving such as this, the drivers will have to show their skill for the first couple races, and ultimately, that will decide who the team will favor to push forward whenever possible.
I think Rosberg needs to seriously think about his actions, and make a decision about whether he's going to be a team player or not. I'm not sure how Hamilton truly things about it, but I'd love to hear his OTR comments on the matter, as well as the Mercedes F1 boss OTR remarks.

i think Lewis wouldn't say much...the situation as it stands has him on the moral high ground by not bitching and moaning. If he vents now even if it is OTR he risks losing that..

doesnt F1(ive no idea) have to wait before giving out punishments to see what the team does?

Well that's just it, how level headed would he stay if he were in a position to speak OTR.

Kevin Magnussen was assessed a 10-second penalty after the race for pushing Alonso off the track, and Alonso was able to finish the race. Nico, making an admittedly stupid move, knocked Lewis out of the race entirely. I think the FIA has a problem of consistency on this one.

this type of behavior is nothing new, but for some reason, it just seems extra childish this time round. What a bunch of divas those 2.

This kinda shows me how little control or influence over the drivers Mercedes really has.
